About
Josh Chesterfield is a London-based composer and sound designer working across documentary, editorial and brand film.
He scored Helmand: Tour of Duty for the BBC, which won the BAFTA Cymru Award for Single Documentary 2025, alongside Caroline Aherne: Queen of Comedy and Roman Kemp: The Fight for Young Lives.
Recent work includes composition, sound design and mixing for the Financial Times, Nikkei and Huawei — a series of promotional films including an animated sequence presented during a keynote address by Nikkei's CEO.
Alongside composition he handles dialogue editing, sound design and full post mixing in stereo and 5.1, so clients receive broadcast-ready films without a separate handover stage.
His studio is in Homerton, East London, and includes a Yamaha U3 upright for live piano recording.
